Chinese are known for their hard work and intelligence. They are not only inventors but can also replicate any product with sophistication and authenticity, even an iPhone. In China, no-one is limited by the requirement of degree or a specialized skill, they just set their mind on an idea and bring it to reality.
Today, we have selected 23 innovations from Chinese inventors who are just common people in China.
1. Home-Made Flying Device
Local farmer Shu Mansheng self-designed and homemade a flying device . The picture shows a test flight, hovering above ground, in front of his house in Dashu village on the outskirts of Wuhan, Hubei province.
2. Hair Comb And A Musical Instrument
Han Yuzi, 63, invented a hair comb that doubles into a small hand-held musical instrument, in Guangzhou, the capital of China’s Guangdong province.
3. Improvised Tractor To Sweep The Streets
The improvised tractor has 12 brooms to sweep the streets of Mohe in Heilongjiang province.
4. Modified Bicycle
Lei Zhiqian modified a bicycle to ride across the Hanjiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River in Wuhan, Hubei province.
5. Remote Controlled Humanoid Robot
Tao Xiangli is a self-taught inventor who built this remote controlled humanoid robot out of scrap metal and electronic wires. The total cost was $49,037. The problem was the the robot was too big to get out of his front door.
6. Self-Made Walking Robot
This self-made walking robot was built by a farmer, Wu Yulu. He is using the robot to pull his rickshaw in a village at the outskirts of Beijing.
7. Self-Made Prosthetic Arms
Sun Jifa, a Chinese farmer, lost his forearms in a dynamite fishing accident 32 years ago. He spend two years guiding his two nephews to build him prosthetic arms from scrap, metal and rubber. In the picture below, he is working on his new house in Yong Ji county, Jilin province.
8. Wooden Electronic Vehicle
Liu Fulong built this wooden electronic vehicle which can reach speeds up to 20 miles an hour. This is fast for a homemade car.
9. Floating Bicycle With Plastic Tubes
Liu Wanyong created this improvised floating bicycle by plastic tubes in Zhenning, in the Guizhou province.
10. Home-Made Cannon
Chinese farmer Yang Youde made this homemade cannon near his farmland on the outskirts of Wuhan, Hubei province.
11. Home-Made Replica Of A Tank
This farmer and former Chinese Navy member spent $6,450 to create a homemade replica of a tank.
12. Home-Made Model Of Formula One Car
Zhao Xiuguo from Tangshan, Hebei Province, made this home made model of Formula One car.
13. Suitcase Vehicle
Liang took ten years to modify a suitcase into a vehicle. This suitcase vehicle has its own motor and can reach speeds of over 12 miles an hour. It can travel 30-40 miles on one one charge.
14. DIY Submarine
Another farmer spent five months building this DIY submarine. He was able to took it to a depth of 30 feet in a lake near his home town of Dangjiangkou, in the Hubei province.
15. Home-Made Submarine
Tao Xiangli can be seen getting out of his homemade submarine in a lake on the outskirts of Beijing.
16. Self-Made Aircraft
Li Jingchun, a 58-year-old farmer, designed this self-made aircraft on top of his house in Xiahe village located in Shenyang, Liaoning province.
17. Robot At A Repair Shop
Wu, a 49-year-old electric bike mechanic, can be seen welding a component to fit onto his newly-made robot (R) at his repair shop in Shenyang, Liaoning province June 25, 2012.
18. Giant Unicycle
The unicycle was designed several years ago by Chinese inventor Li Yongli who called it “the number one vehicle in the world.”

Zhang Yali and his friends designed, made and tested this giant bicycle outside a rented warehouse in Jilin, Jilin province.

Zhang Xuelin build this self-made aircraft at his home in Jinan, Shandong province.
21. Self- Made Helicopter
This self-made helicopter is a creation of Wu Zhongyuan – a local farmer in Jiuxian county, Henan province.

This ultralight aircraft is the work of a farmer,Shu Mansheng from Wuhan, Hubei province.
23. Miniature Submarine
The picture below shows an unfinished miniature submarine at a workshop of Zhang Wuyi. He is a local farmer interested in scientific inventions and lives in Qingling village, on the outskirts of Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei province.
